Frequently asked questions
Everything about NeuroScans’ free, private, in-browser PDF tools.
Are these PDF tools really free?
Yes. Every NeuroScans PDF tool is 100% free with no sign-up, no per-file limits and no watermark on your output. There is no paid tier — all tools are free for everyone.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser using your device’s own processing power, so your PDFs and images are never uploaded. Your files never leave your computer or phone.
Do I need to install anything or create an account?
No install and no account. There’s no email, no registration and no app to download — open any tool in your browser and start working immediately.
What PDF tools are available?
You can merge, split, rotate, compress, convert (PDF to Word, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF), sign, watermark, OCR (extract text), and password-protect or unlock PDFs — all free and all in your browser.
Is it safe to use NeuroScans for confidential documents?
Yes. Because processing happens locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded, even sensitive contracts, IDs and financial documents stay private on your device.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. All tools work in modern mobile browsers on iPhone and Android. You can also install the free NeuroScans app for camera scanning, OCR and an encrypted vault.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
There are no artificial per-file or per-day limits. The only practical limit is your device’s memory, since everything is processed locally.
Which browsers are supported?
NeuroScans works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Brave — on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
Will there be a watermark on my files?
No. Unlike many free tools, NeuroScans never adds a watermark to your output. The files you download are clean.
Can I password-protect or unlock a PDF?
Yes. Use Protect PDF to add a password and AES encryption, or Unlock PDF to remove a password from a document you can already open — both run privately in your browser.
How do I convert a scanned PDF to editable text?
Use the free OCR tool to extract text from scanned PDFs and images in 20+ languages, then copy it or save it as a .txt file. For an editable document, follow up with PDF to Word.
How is NeuroScans free if there are no uploads or ads here?
The web tools are free to use. We also offer a free mobile app supported by optional ads, with a one-time option to remove them — but the website PDF tools themselves are simply free.
